A work of art!

I was able to purchase this watch from JomaShop.com for the 50% discount mentioned in the review above. Since then the Amazon price has increased by about $50 but the watch is still well worth it (considering it retails at almost $800).



The pictures listed here simply do not do it justice - go to a Movado company store or authorized retailer - and try it on. I almost bought mine on the spot at double the price!



This is a very classy dress watch at a very reasonable price. The stainless steel band is accented by semi-circles to complement the distinct Movado motif. The butterfly clasp completely hides the beginning/end of the bracelet. This clean look is finished with a scratchproof sapphire face and rhodium dot to signify the 12-o-clock mark.



I get complimented on this watch all the time and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for one. As with all Movados if you have trouble reading an analog dial much less a numberless face this watch is not for you.More detail ...

Love this watch - elegant practical and keeps great time

What a great watch! I received this as a Christmas gift and have worn it daily since. Movado watches are usually very classy so it is no surprise that the Juro's simplistic design is both elegant fitting in perfectly with a job situation and practical: the watch dresses down easily when you pair it with "dressy" casual wear (think "Banana Republic dress shirt untucked worn over jeans") for going out. It keeps accurate time and is both thin and lightweight (for those of you who don't like watches that weigh 5 lbs). This watch looks far better in person than what the picture shows and looks even better on your wrist!



This is a fantastic price on Amazon - most places sell for almost twice that much and free shipping can't be beat. No sales tax is an added bonus and the additional 5-year warranty is just cream on top. (Note: read updates from June 21 2009 - this is no longer the case)



Update August 23 2008: I still have this watch and I still wear it everywhere. I've moved to Sweden since my review and this watch still gets looks everywhere I go. A lot of men like watches with fancy dials and knobs and don't get me wrong I'd probably pick one up too if I could afford a $3000 Tag Heuer or Omega watch... but then my watch would look like everyone else's. Sometimes simplicity is all you need and in a country known for its clean lines and modernity this watch works perfectly.



Its understated elegance is simply my favorite attribute about this watch.



Regarding the warranty comment from my original review - I guess Amazon is no longer offering a 5-year warranty on this watch. Be sure to contact them about warranty details since this watch is NOT covered by Movado's warranty (as it as not sold directly by an authorized Movado dealer). (Note: read updates from June 21 2009 - this is no longer the case)



Update June 21 2009: This watch is still going strong. I wanted to make a quick update to my original review: looks like Amazon.com is now an authorized Movado dealer! (Hooray!) Rest assured that your purchase will be covered by the official Movado warranty. Beautiful Elegant Modern

I've owned my Movado Moderno watch for decades. It is incredibly thin - its a shame that thinness isn't a data point listed in the product description. My watch has stood up to daily wearing and still works great.



Who would want a watch like this? Someone who enjoys wearing crisp elegant and design-savvy clothes. Someone who decorates their home in sleek but beautiful furnishings. Someone who always wears black. Someone who loves great watches.



...or someone who just enjoys a simple and perfect design.



Someone who really needs to see numbers on the face or someone who likes to have highly specific times won't be happy with this watch as there are no numerals and exact timing is impossible.
